The use of E-ZPass transponders to pay tolls in Massachusetts is continuing to grow.
Close to 600 thousand transponders have been issued by the state Department of Transportation in the last year.
The increase came as the state knocked down all the MassPike toll booths and replaced them with electronic tolling.
The DOT says 86 percent of tolls in the state are currently paid for with E-ZPass transponders.
