Walmart Settlement Approved By Federal Judge

A federal judge is approving a  settlement of a class action lawsuit filed against Wal-Mart by a New  Bedford woman.

The suit alleged that Wal-Mart violated the law for  years by denying spousal benefits to gay couples.

The settlement will  pay the plaintiffs over seven-million-dollars, and they will see around  five-million after attorney fees are paid.

A federal judge called the  settlement fair and reasonable in giving his blessing.
