Former Director Has Ties To Massachusetts

Former FBI Director Robert Mueller,  who is being appointed special counsel to oversee an investigation into  alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia leading up to the  election, has plenty of connections to Boston.

Mueller was a partner at former Boston law firm Hill and Barlow and served as U.S. Attorney in Boston, prosecuting cases including one where Boston-area  police officers stole and sold civil service exams, known as the  "Examscam" case.

Mueller's appointment earned praise from Senator Ed  Markey, Attorney General Maura Healey and others yesterday.
