A popular Fourth of July carnival in East Longmeadow is being canceled.
The town manager's office announced the cancellation is due to the fact that the Jaycees, the civic organization that runs the event, is no longer a functioning organization in town.
Town officials say fireworks and a parade are still planned.
And Selectman Paul Federicci says that the town is looking for another sponsor for the popular carnival.
