The murder trial of a Dorchester man accused of killing his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter, Bella Bond, begins today.
Michael McCarthy is charged with first-degree murder, accused of killing the girl and dumping her body in Boston Harbor.
The body was found on Deer Island and went unidentified for months, when the girl was known as Baby Doe.
The child's mother, Rachelle Bond, is expected to testify against McCarthy.
