It's officially Doctor Seuss Week in Springfield.
Mayor Domenic Sarno declared yesterday that the designation will run until next Tuesday to celebrate the opening of The Amazing World of Doctor Seuss Museum.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the museum is taking place at 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by a parade on Mulberry Street on Saturday.
The museum will celebrate the work and personal life of Theodor Geisel, who is a Springfield native.
