Guilty Verdict In UMass Drug Case

A guilty verdict is being handed down  in the case of a UMass-Amherst student's overdose death.

Jesse Carrillo  of Derry, New Hampshire was convicted on charges of involuntary  manslaughter and distributing heroin yesterday by a Hampshire Superior  Court jury.

Prosecutors said Carrillo, who was a graduate student at the  university, supplied Eric Sinacori of New Jersey with the drug in 2013,  leading to a fatal overdose inside his Amherst apartment.

Sentencing is  set for Thursday.
