Six Years Ago - A Tragedy Remembered

Springfield  Mayor Domenic Sarno is asking for a moment of silence at 4:38 p.m.  today to mark the six-year anniversary of the deadly tornado that hit  western Massachusetts.

Ceremonies are also set for West Springfield where a 40 year old woman died shielding her teen daughter in their home that was struck.

An EF-3 twister resulted in three deaths and  widespread destruction in 2011.

The specific time is a reference to  when the tornado hit Springfield.
