A Springfield man is avoiding major jail time in a secret videotaping case.
James Gamache pleaded guilty in Hampden Superior Court yesterday to two counts of photographing an unsuspecting nude person and one count of possessing child pornography after he was accused of recording a 15-year-old girl taking a bath and uploading the material to the internet in 2015.
Prosecutors told Judge Mark Mason that the victim's wishes prompted a sentence of two-and-a-half years in the Hampden County Correctional Center.
Gamache could have gotten a significant prison sentence otherwise.
