State Won't Collect Taxes In Some Cases

The state Department of Revenue is  not going to start collecting sales taxes from some online retailers  today.

The department announced this week that the state will not be  collecting the tax at this time.

The decision came after a lawsuit was  filed in an effort to block the taxes from being collected.

The  opponents cite a 1992 Supreme Court ruling saying sales tax cannot be  collected from companies without a physical presence in their state.
