The Massachusetts man responsible for raising millions of dollars for Lou Gehrig's disease research with the ice bucket challenge is in the hospital.
Peter Frates was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital yesterday.
The "Team Frate Train" posted to Facebook Sunday asking the public for their prayers and support.
They said Frates was "battling this beast ALS like a superhero."
The former Boston College baseball team captain has been fighting ALS since 2012.
