Chicopee Gets Fed Money For Cleanup

The city of Chicopee is getting a  600-thousand-dollar brownfield grant from the U.S. Environmental  Protection Agency.

The EPA announced on Thursday the grants will go  towards cleaning up several buildings at the former Uniroyal Tire  Complex on Grove Street.

A total of nearly two-and-a-half-million  dollars in grants was doled out, also including Belchertown, Pittsfield,  North Adams, Great Barrington, Williamstown and Worcester.
