Hampden County health officials say the West Nile Virus has been detected in East Longmeadow.
According to the health department, the mosquito in the town tested positive for the virus.
However, no human cases of the virus have been found.
Residents are being told to get rid of any standing water in their yards and to make sure their swimming pool circulation systems are running continuously.
