Eversource Under Fire For Rate Increase Request

Eversource was criticized at another  public hearing in Western Massachusetts for a proposed rate hike  increase on Tuesday.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities  ordered a second hearing at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield  after Eversource adjusted its proposed increase in June.

The average  customer would see a monthly increase of about 12 dollars.

Pittsfield  Mayor Linda Tyer called the utility's request "obscenely greedy" and  other state representatives joined a chorus of calls to have the state  reject it.
