Delay Announced In GE Boston Project

General Electric is pushing back the opening of the 12 story tower at its new headquarters in Boston's  Fort Point.

GE has decided to split its headquarters project into two  phases, and is delaying the tower opening by two years until 2021.

Two  existing buildings on the property will be renovated first, with a  scheduled opening date sometime in 2019.

GE is receiving  150-million-dollars in public incentives to relocate its headquarters  from Connecticut to Boston.
