Immigration Protest In Springfield

Some Western Massachusetts residents  are expressing opposition to Governor Charlie Baker's proposed bill  dealing with immigration.

Baker says the bill, which would mandate law  enforcement in the Bay State to comply with Immigrations and Customs  Enforcement detainer requests, addresses the problem of violent criminal  immigrants.

Nearly one-hundred protesters rallied outside the  governor's office in Springfield on Tuesday calling for a withdrawal of  the bill, which is currently being considered in committee.

Organizers  say the proposed law is racist and unconstitutional.
