Burnham Pension Issue Resolved

An agreement has been reached regarding the pension of Kevin Burnham, the former Springfield  police officer charged with theft who died of an apparent suicide on  the same day he was scheduled to enter a guilty plea.

Barbara Burnham  will return roughly 75-thousand dollars, the remaining balance of Kevin  Burnham's contribution to his pension fund, and will no longer receive  cash benefits from the city, per terms of the settlement announced on  Wednesday.

Burnham allegedly stole almost 400-thousand dollars from the  Springfield PD's evidence room. Barbara Burnham will be allowed to stay on the city's health care plan.
