State Gives Big Boost To Housing Market

Several affordable housing projects in  Western Massachusetts are getting a boost from the commonwealth.

Governor Charlie Baker announced 72-million dollars in direct funding  and 28-million dollars in state and federal tax credits for projects in  18 Massachusetts cities and towns yesterday.

In addition to the  Chestnut Crossing project in Springfield, the money will go towards  projects in Chicopee, Easthampton, Great Barrington, and Holyoke, as  well as North Adams and Adams, Orange and Westfield.
