A new report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is exposing patient problems at a nursing center in Longmeadow.
The statement of deficiencies was put together regarding the Jewish Nursing Home of Western Massachusetts, indicating that two dementia patients were found this summer with their heads stuck in the side rails of their beds; one of them was dead.
The nursing home was criticized in the report for not taking corrective action with the bed frames.
The home has been told by the state of Massachusetts to freeze patient admissions until it's found to be in compliance with federal care standards.
