A conviction of a Puerto Rican man who was federally accused of hiring a Springfield man for a murder is being reached.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Hector Cardona-Diaz orchestrated the murder of a man he was supplying with large quantities of cocaine in the Hartford and Springfield areas.
Cardona-Diaz allegedly paid Springfield resident Jesus Sierra five-thousand dollars to shoot the victim, Jesus Silva.
The Justice Department says Cardona-Diaz was found guilty of charges related to the murder by a federal jury on Tuesday, with a sentencing date pending.
