School Boss Calls For Unity In Holyoke High

Holyoke High School is in the  spotlight after a divisive student assembly on Friday.

Video shows a  student performing a poem for Latino Heritage Month that seems to blame  white people for systemic oppression of minorities.

School officials  said yesterday that the poem was not subjected to sufficient review, and  that protocol will be revised for future student presentations.

Superintendent Stephen Zrike and interim high school principal Dana  Brown are calling for unity, diversity and tolerance from students and  the rest of the school community.

In a statement yesterday, they also  noted that a student allegedly created a list of names of other students  advocating violence, which is now being investigated.
