State Botches Car Inspections

The head of the Registry of Motor  Vehicles is conceding that the rollout of a new inspection system was  mishandled.

Service stations report they had all kinds of issues when  the new system went on line October 1st.

Registrar of Motor Vehicles  Erin Deveney says stations should have received more training and the  call center should have been better staffed.

Stations complained they  were unable to reach the call center when they experienced software  glitches and other issues.
