The war of words is heating up between Holyoke incumbent mayor Alex Morse and his opponent in next month's election.
Former city council member Jay Ferreira criticized Morse's economic track record, while Morse claimed Ferreira doesn't have a plan to run the city, at a debate Monday at the Holyoke Senior Center.
Ferreira questioned Morse's campaign funds, claiming the more-than-a-quarter-million dollars raised by Morse since 2015 may be an indicator of pay-to-play politics with local businesses.
Morse, who is seeking a fourth term, fired back, saying Ferreira is misleading voters.
