An apparent murder-suicide is being reported in Holyoke.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni says Holyoke police responding to a disturbance at an apartment on Dwight Street yesterday found an elderly woman in a common area of the building who had been shot multiple times and who later died at Springfield Medical Center.
Police found an elderly man in a fifth-floor apartment who was dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, who had apparently fled the scene of the original killing.
The names of the two dead have not been released, pending notification of family members.
