Opioid Deaths Decline In State

New data indicates efforts to reduce  opioid-related overdose deaths in Massachusetts are taking hold.

State  officials say overdose deaths were down ten-percent in the first nine  months of the year compared to the same period last year.

Despite the  drop, the state still reported more than 14-hundred opioid deaths  between January and September of this year.

Use of the synthetic opioid  fentanyl was found in eight of ten OD deaths this year.
