A bill requiring health insurers to provide free birth control to state residents is now headed to Governor Charlie Baker's desk.
The state Senate unanimously approved the free contraception bill yesterday, and it was passed by the House last week.
The bill was proposed in response to efforts to change birth control coverage requirements at the federal level.
Senate President Stan Rosenberg says the state is standing up for women with this legislation.
