Dogs Getting Better As Man Is Charged With Abuse

A man has been arrested in connection  to last week's discovery of over a dozen malnourished and flea-ridden  dogs in a home in Holyoke.

Julio Rivera of Holyoke was arrested on  Friday and charged with 17 counts of animal cruelty.

One of the dogs  discovered at the apartment on Newton Street last Thursday was dead, and  the rest are being cared for at a Springfield animal shelter.

Rivera  is scheduled to be arraigned in Holyoke District Court.
