Westfield State Takes Action

Westfield State University is  addressing the latest allegations of racism on the campus.

School  president Ramon Torrecilha issued a letter to the community Indicating a racial and threatening note was slipped under a student's  door in Scanlon Hall the previous evening.

Torrecilha said in a  follow-up message that there will be an increased security presence  through the end of the fall semester.

Hundreds of students and faculty  held a walkout earlier last week in response to previous reports of hate  crimes.
