UMass, Other Colleges Ready To Fight Meningitis

Institutions of higher learning in  Amherst are scrambling to protect students and staff from meningitis.   

Preparations were finalized at the University of Massachusetts on  Wednesday for a large-scale student vaccination clinic on campus after  two recent cases of meningitis B were diagnosed on campus.  

Hampshire  College urged students on Tuesday to get the vaccine, especially those  who take classes at UMass.  

Meningitis shots are also available at Smith  College and Amherst College.
