Connecticut Prisons Smaller And Smaller

Connecticut's prison population is at  its lowest level in decades.

The state prison population was under 14  thousand yesterday, and at its lowest level in 23 years.

The record  high number of inmates was set in 2008, when there were just under 20  thousand people in state prisons.

The drop is largely attributed to  criminal justice reforms of the last decade.
