The Springfield City Council is kicking off its 2018 schedule.
Orlando Ramos was unanimously re-elected by fellow council members as president on Monday, with councilor Kateri Walsh being selected as vice president, replacing Justin Hurst.
There were two new board members who took the oath of office, Jesse Lederman and Timothy Ryan.
In Chicopee, Mayor Ricahrd Kos warned of tough times but he said that he will make much needed investments in public safety and infrastructure.
The next found of inaugurals are set for later today.
Westfield and Holyoke have their ceremonies.
