A former school bus driver is being sentenced for the death of a young girl.
Seventy-one-year-old Tendzin Parsons of Hawley was ordered to serve one year in Hampshire County jail after pleading guilty to negligent motor vehicle homicide in Northampton District Court on Friday.
Parsons was driving a bus in October 2016 when nine-year-old Summer Steele, a student from Sanderson Academy in Ashfield, apparently got caught in the vehicle doors and was dragged and eventually run over.
