Newspaper Group Under Fire In Apparent Pay Issue

There is disagreement about equal pay  for men and women working at a Western Massachusetts newspaper group.

Former Newspapers of New England executive director Jeffrey Good  reportedly sent an email  to all newspaper staffers letting  them know he had been fired because he had fought for equal pay for  several female reporters and a female photojournalist.

The media  company publishes the "Daily Hampshire Gazette" and the "Greenfield  Recorder", among others.

The company disputed Good's claims in a  statement and said they were negative characterizations.
