Two casino operators are suing the U.S. Department of the Interior for refusing to approve a casino aimed at competing with the new MGM resort in Springfield.
Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes, which operate Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino, say the department is illegally trying to delay plans for the new casino in East Windsor.
Politico reports Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has met with MGM lobbyists and legislators who support the company, but it's not clear if the tribes' casino project was discussed.
