A warning to Springfield residents, where the Water and Sewer Commission says it is receiving reports of people posing as workers seeking entry into your home.
There are some things that you can do to prevent yourself from being scammed.
Remember that the Water Department will only accept payments by mail or on-line and they will never ask for cash payments.
All workers have official IDs which will include a phone number for you to call. And the workers will drive a blue or white car with City Plates on them.
And, most of the work that is done by the Commission is on an appointment basis.
