State Public Officials React To Deadly Shooting

Massachusetts public officials are reacting to the deadly mass shooting at a Parkland, Florida, high school.  

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh says the city's heart breaks as they support Florida during this horrific time.  

Senator Ed Markey says his sadness for the families is matched by his outrage at yet another mass shooting.  

Senator Elizabeth Warren says no parent should hear that their child is not coming home and tragedies like this should never happen.

Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal says his heart breaks to learn of another senseless school shooting.  

Blumenthal says yesterday's killings at a Florida high school bring back memories of the 2012 school killings in Newtown.  

Blumenthal says gun violence respects no boundaries and spares no communities, victimizing everybody whenever and wherever it happens. 

Meantime, teachers in Springfield and the rest of western Mass are expected to address issues surrounding the shooting.Some school districts have offered services to students who wish to talk about the tragedy.
