The first homicide case of 2018 is being handled by Springfield police.
Authorities responded to the scene of a fatal stabbing at an Indian Orchard apartment on Friday morning.
The name of the 43-year-old victim isn't being released, but authorities are charging her husband, Terry Lockett, with murder.
Lockett is scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court later today.
