Governor Dan Malloy says there isn't anything that is going to be really accomplished at the Governor's Conference in DC so he has come back to the state.
The Governor is launching a statewide opioid and prescription drug abuse awareness campaign.
The campaign is titled Change the Script, and is designed to help battle the crisis caused by the misuse of opioids and prescription drugs.
The goal is to change the public perception and thinking about opioid use disorder and acknowledge it as a chronic disease.
Over one thousand people died from drug overdoses in Connecticut last year.
