The Springfield Police Department is crediting several officers with showing restraint after they were reportedly attacked by a man with a knife.
The police department says Jose Dejesus was arrested after officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Fountain Street early Thursday morning.
A Taser was reportedly used on Dejesus, but it did not have the desired impact due to several layers of clothing.
Officers were able to get Dejesus out of the car and secure the knife after they say he had grabbed it and motioned towards them with the weapon.
