Chicopee is getting set to join several other Western Massachusetts cities in raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco.
The city's health board voted to hike the age from 18 to 21, starting on April 22nd. Springfield, Holyoke, South Hadley, Easthampton and Northampton have all passed age increases in the last several years.
There has also been discussion to pass a statewide increase.
