Connecticut Closer To Tolls

The legislature's Transportation  Committee is giving their approval to four bills involving electronic  tolls on state highways.

One bill would allow tolls on Interstates 95,  91 and 84, along with the Merritt Parkway.

Another would set up a  two-step approval process for tolls, with a formal study this year and a  final vote next year.

The bills all passed on party line votes, with  Democrats voting in support of tolls and Republicans opposed.
