Bishop To Decide Whether School Will Remain Open

Springfield Catholic Diocese Bishop  Mitchell Rozanski is going over a proposal to keep a high school in  Westfield open.

The bishop met with parish officials at Saint Mary's  High School in Westfield on Saturday.

The parish had announced earlier  this month that the school would close because of declining enrollment.

Hundreds of supporters walked through Park Square and held a prayer  vigil while Rozanski discussed the proposal, specifics of which have not  been made public.

We aren't expecting any follow decision from the Diocese for at least a couple of weeks.
