The application process for licensing retail marijuana stores in Massachusetts is beginning.
Starting today, companies interested in growing or selling marijuana in the state's legal retail market can begin applying for a license.
This formally begins the process that will culminate with the beginning of legal marijuana sales in July.
The state cannabis commission has been testing its software and are confident it will be able to handle the heavy traffic expected today.
