Police Captain Under Indictment

A Pioneer Valley police officer is  set to be arraigned later this month after he was accused of taking more  than a thousand dollars from his police department's evidence room.

The  Massachusetts Attorney General's office says West Springfield  police captain Daniel Spaulding was indicted by a Hampden County Grand  Jury on Friday on a charge of use of official position to obtain  unwarranted privilege.

Spaulding allegedly took the money between May  2016 and May 2017, and then returned the missing cash. He has since been  suspended.
