Governor Gets Crime Bill

The state legislature is sending a  bipartisan criminal justice reform bill to Governor Charlie Baker's  desk.

The measure was overwhelmingly approved in both the House and  Senate yesterday.

It seeks to reduce the number of people caught up in  the court system and helps ensure those who finish their prison terms do  not reoffend.

Baker's options are to sign the bill or to send it back  to lawmakers with notes to address his concerns.
