Springfield Police are alerting residents of a new scam.
Police say the scam centers on Craigslist and EBay.
The scammers offer a car for sale at a very low cost.
They claim that they need to sell the car because they are being deployed and they need fast cash.
They request that you pay with a prepaid card and that's the scam.
Springfield Police say the name being used is Jennifer Norris. That name could change.
If you get a call with a similar name or the deal sounds too good to be true, hang up and call police and never give anyone any personal information.
Police say if someone wants payment with a prepaid card it is always a scam.
