Two more associates of the La Cosa Nostra crime family are being sent to prison.
Ralph Santaniello and Giovanni Calabrese, both of Longmeadow, were sentenced yesterday in federal court in Worcester to five years in prison and three years in prison, respectively, on extortion-related charges after entering guilty pleas last November.
Santaniello and Calabrese were accused of engaging in various criminal activities in Springfield, such as illegal gambling businesses and the collection of unlawful debts.
One other mob associate was sentenced last month, while two more sentences are pending.
