A Springfield woman is dead after being hit by a train in the city over the weekend.
The Hampden District Attorney's Office says Kenisha Forbes was in an SUV when a moving train collided with it at a railroad crossing on Memorial Drive at around 2 a.m. Saturday.
Springfield fire officials say Forbes was taken to Baystate Medical Center after being extricated with the Jaws of Life, but she later died.
The incident is being investigated.
