Springfield police have a suspect in custody in connection to a hit-and-run incident involving a young female victim.
The girl was reportedly hit by a pickup truck on Montmorenci Street at around 7 p.m. Tuesday and was taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Reports indicate the man driving the truck tried to flee the accident scene on foot but was prevented from doing so by witnesses.
