More Scams hit the area.
An elderly Worcester woman is out close to 30-thousand-dollars after falling victim to a scam.
The woman was contacted by phone by a person who told her that she was a winner of the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes.
However, the scammer told the 85-year-old woman that she had to pay some fees and taxes in order to collect over a million dollars in winnings.
The woman's daughter learned of the payments and was able to stop payment on a check for another 20-thousand-dollars and reported the scam to police.
